Students were asked 1 question at the beginning of each class. They discussed in small groups for 1 min, then as a large group. I, Ms. Ireland, collected the shared answers on the board and students voted on the one they felt best represented their class. Answers were collected and tallied from 20 classes, grades 1-5. The answer with the most tallies moved on to create our next question. After 3 questions I crafted a Vision Statement using the answers collected from the students. Each class then voted on whether or not they felt the statement represented what they wanted from Art, if it needed more work, or if we should scrap it and start over. The overwhelming majority felt it was a "good" vision statement and represented our Art Room.
